Even if you only know of World War II from the history books, we have all heard about the USO events and clubs. Helping to provide military personnel with distraction from the pressures of war, some of the most famed events were the dances.
Renaissance Terrace of Knoxville will bring back the USO club feel with a 1940's themed event on July 13th at the Jackson Terminal in Knoxville. Dancing, food, door prizes along with a few contests that I'm sure will provide a few laughs, all for a good cause. It will help honor residents and friends of Renaissance Terrace Assisted Living. But there is more.
As you are probably aware, the cost of assisted living in the United States is not cheap. Some are fortunate to have long term care insurance to help offset this cost. Many do not. According to payingforseniorcare.com , Knoxville falls a little above the state average in cost for assisted living care, averaging at $4033 per month. Federal insurance programs, Medicare and Medicaid, typically do not pay for assisted living. Tennessee does offer the CHOICES program that will provide some of the costs for those who qualify. However, the facilities that accept CHOICES are limited.
Renaissance Terrace does accept CHOICES. But there are many who do not qualify for this program. So they offer a program called Bridge the Gap. This helps provide residents of the facility as well as some of the SCHAS home clients with funds to meet gaps in their finances. This helps seniors continue to "age in place", a term we use that refers to a senior's ability to remain in their current home setting as long as possible.
So if you are looking for some fun, food, music and dancing, all for a good cause, check out their event!
